There have been a number of auditions during previous tours to check on vocal register, quality of intonation and knowledge of the music. Sadly, lack of time means that lengthy auditions are not always possible on our tours. Any prospective [or current] members who would like an audition should contact the Musical Director. You do not need to take an audition before applying to come on a course although we reserve the right to ask for a reference.
In view of the shortage of rehearsal time, it is essential that sight-reading and prior personal preparation should be of a good standard. Members who do not learn the notes should understand that their lack of preparation has consequences for future choices of music. Rhythmic, melodic and textural uncertainties are all too obvious to observers.
